Welcome,
MAMA.

Real motherhood conversations start here.

ABOUT US

Mila & Jo Media was founded by two award-winning journalists, moms, and best friends Lindsay Tigar and Jenn Sinrich.

For the past 15+ years, they have written thousands of articles for lifestyle publications, journals and magazines and partnered with a myriad of brands to create compelling and captivating content.

While these experiences catapulted their careers, once they became mothers, they realized how many stories were left to tell.

Motherhood may be a universal experience—but no two mothering journeys are the same. Everyone’s road to becoming and being a mother is unique; it’s not always paved, often winding and is sure to be riddled with plenty of bumps and roadblocks.

Mila & Jo Media seeks to be the support system that’s missing for so many moms. We are the answer to those 3 a.m. Google searches, the loving embrace during some of the darkest moments, and reminder that you’re doing your best and that you’re more than enough.

Mila & Jo Media will provide niche motherhood content and coaching services that fill in the gaps left by traditional, mainstream media. Mila & Jo aims to build community, provide resources and guidance—and most importantly, to give the sustenance and support all moms need to feel less alone and heard.

All of our content puts the mother first—and helps both companies and communities do the same.

OUR BRANDS

Miscarriage Movement

For an incident that happens to one in four clinically recognized pregnancies, miscarriage is still one of the loneliest roads. Whether your pregnancy was planned or a pleasant surprise, whether you're a hopeful mom-to-be or a veteran mom trying for your fourth, and whether you're on week 4 of your pregnancy or week 14, a loss is a loss and it deserves to be grieved just as much as you deserve to be cared for during this difficult time.

The Miscarriage Movement sets out to shift the narrative on miscarriage, bringing research-backed information, first-person stories and comforting resources to parents coping with loss.

the mother chapter

Becoming a mother is a significant identity shift and lifestyle transformation, touching every aspect of her routine, body, career, self-image, relationships, and priorities. Historically, the postpartum period is considered six weeks, when in reality... it is forever. The conversation should continue, evolve and support all stages of growth.

The Mother Chapter delves into the mom's milestones—not the baby's—and helps mothers identify, cope, connect, share and thrive in this new identity.

So, what are our microsites?

As a media & consulting agency, we wanted a meaningful way to illustrate our niche content and community-building capabilities.

Our microsites are just that: mini magazines full of curated thought-provoking essays, expert-backed content, and inspiring Q&As—all from our network of incredible moms and experts.

If you like what you see—we can create it for your company or brand.

Our Approach to Content

All Mila & Jo Media brands focus solely on the mother—not the baby.

We highlight the unique challenges and needs of a woman as she evolves into this new role in her life. Through raw, thought-provoking first-person essays, expert-backed guides and resources, curated product reviews, and coaching services, we provide a safe outlet for all motherhood stages.

All of our content aims to provide advice, resources, solidarity and comfort. As journalists, we are committed to providing trustworthy, credible content that is written and backed by humans—not AI technologies.

All Mila & Jo Media content meets these core values and guidelines:

Mother-
first

expert-
backed

community-
centered

Meet Us

Some people are simply meant for us; meant to be part of our lives in one way or another. That has been shown to be serendipitously true for Lindsay and Jenn.

More than 15 years ago, across state lines, the two met via email when Jenn, a student at Northeastern University in Boston, reached out to write for a women’s website, ChickSpeak, where Lindsay was editor-in-chief. The two exchanged back-and-forth emails involving several assignments and published content over the course of their last years of college, and soon their paths would cross again.

Ahead of her final year of school, Jenn applied for an internship at NBC Universal’s iVillage only to find that the person who would be interviewing her for the role was a “Lindsay Tigar.” What are the odds, she thought.

After traveling to New York for the interview she came to find out that it was, indeed, the same Lindsay. Jenn was offered the internship and accepted, and after another set of months working together, the two grabbed drinks to toast to the beginning of what would become a decades-long friendship.

They’ve supported each other through new relationships, break ups, engagements, weddings, job changes and loss and grievances. One thing has remained through it all: an unwavering support and admiration for each other that’s carried their friendship to new heights.

The real magic unfolded when they became moms; Jenn in 2019 and Lindsay in 2022. Neither was the same after transitioning to this new version of themselves—one that was clouded by sleepless nights, overwhelming anxiety, episodes of self-doubt and the stark reality that life would never be the same.

Through the hard trials was also the beautiful experience of learning to love this new person: a mother, a fierce creator of life and a forever-changed being that was softer, more sensitive and carried a new sense of self. They found a deeper connection to not only one another, but to the need to support mothers and fundamentally shift their careers to answer this call.

It is with immense joy, anticipation and overwhelming excitement that Jenn and Lindsay have joined forces for the third time to embark on what is sure to be their best chapter yet, Mila and Jo Media.
